A commercial litigation practice with several offices and a partner-led referral model.
Outcomes
What changed
This engagement is anonymised at the client's request, so it is described by what the build does rather than by their internal numbers.
- Matter type, parties and urgency are captured before anything reaches a partner.
- Conflict checks begin from a structured intake record instead of a free-text email.
- Enquiries are encrypted at rest and routed to the right practice group automatically.
- The site meets WCAG 2.2 AA, and is measured on enquiry quality rather than raw traffic.
The problem
The old site was a brochure that had not been touched in five years. New matters arrived as free-text emails to a shared inbox, so conflict checks were manual, intake details were incomplete, and the first useful conversation with a prospective client happened days after they first got in touch.
What we built
A restrained, typography-led site that reads as seriously as the practice does — paired with a structured intake flow that collects matter type, parties, and urgency before anything reaches a partner, over an encrypted channel.
Approach
How we got there
- 01Audited every page of the old site and cut it by two thirds; what survived was rewritten around practice areas rather than partner biographies.
- 02Built practice-area pages that answer the questions prospective clients actually search for, each with its own intake entry point.
- 03Designed a multi-step intake form that captures the parties involved up front, so conflict checks start before the first call.
- 04Encrypted submissions at rest and routed them to the right practice group automatically.
- 05Set up analytics against enquiry quality, not raw traffic.
